After learning that Gilbert, a general of Rhem Kingdom, was seeking to dominate the Nalhegrande Skydom, the crew had sought the power to stop him. Zeyen's innermost teachings allow Rackam, Eugen, and Io to form temporary pacts with their respective primal beasts, and they head toward the royal capital of Idelva where Gran awaits.

No thanks needed. Me and Rackam were passin' by on our flight back from Groz Island to meet up with Gran's group.

'Sides, this wasn't our first time comin' to Bestia. Wasn't much trouble makin' a pit stop.

Since you're essentially taking the place of an entire island, there's tremendous risk involved. If me, Rackam, or Io messed up even one little thing, we'd be goners by now.

But you three pulled it off. Rackam bonded with Tiamat, and you bonded with Leviathan.

Yep, and we've got Zeyen to thank for that. He allowed us to form a temporary pact with our respective primals.

Rackam had to take a trial with Tiamat... Got blown away to Port Breeze along the way.

Yeah, the doctors told me it was incurable... But I refused to accept it at the time and traveled the skies lookin' for a cure.

Or so I claimed. I think part of me just couldn't bear to see her on the brink of death anymore...

I was an awful husband to Artemisia, and an even worse father to Apollo—she said as much in the trial.

Completin' my trial meant my little world with Artemisia would crumble. Was that something I'd be willin' to go through again?

When you and Rackam were facing your trials, Io and I went to Bestia Island to make sure Echidna was okay.

No. My trial was to relive certain events in Io's past, and vice versa.

We've both lost so much over the course of our lives.

Seeing how much Io matured despite the incredible hardships she faced made me proud of her...

But at the same time, it only heightened my fears that I might be holding everyone back...

It's scarier to hurt a close friend than it is to hurt yourself...

It sure is... That's why I thought I might be better off parting with the crew. But then...

Io told me that I've been playing the role of observer ever since joining.

Rosetta and Eugen set their sights on the direction that the Grandcypher is currently flying toward at blistering speed.
They may not be Omniscient Sages, but they can definitely sense the ominous clouds descending upon Nalhegrande.
