An island's calm is disrupted by the thunderous roar of combat.

Anissida swings away with her canon, but Sturm brushes aside every blow, jumping back to keep her distance.

Sturm

Nghh... Looks like we've got a heavy hitter.

Drang

No offense, lady, but I don't think you're using that thing properly.

Anissida breaks into a grin as she readies her weapon.

Anissida

Maybe so, but it sure gets the job done. Here, I'll show you!

Drang

Hailak

You both lack discipline, but you're only agents after all. Not troops like us.

Anissida

Hold it, Hailak. Since when did you get so uppity?

Anissida

What do I always say? Don't mock the enemy, no matter what.

Hailak

My apologies.

Sturm

...

Sturm catches her breath before opening her mouth to speak.

Sturm

Cough it up. Tell us why you're here. What's so special about that house?

Anissida

What's so special you ask? Well, I can't put my finger on it, but it's worth checking out.

Hailak

After all, it's where the legend began.

Drang

Hm, so you've heard? Well, of course you have! You're from the other skydom.

Sturm

Legend? What legend? You don't mean that kid, do you?

Anissida

Well, I'll give credit where it's due.

Anissida

But compared to the father, that kid's far from legendary.

Sturm

What're you getting at?

Anissida

In our skydom, there's isn't a single person who doesn't know about that guy.

Anissida

Where we're from, they call him the Primal Killer.

Sturm

You mean, he's killed primals? Can they even be killed?

Drang

Hm, now that's new! You'd pacify or even seal a primal typically. No?

Hailak

Being typical doesn't make you a legendary. Your story won't be passed down for the ages.

Hailak

He became a living legend, eradicating primals as he journeyed.

Anissida

And that's how our skydom sees him. He's like a mythological hero, get it?

Anissida

There are endless numbers of little kids who practically worship him. Right, Hailak?

Hailak

Anissida, please be serious.

Anissida

Yeah, yeah. So this house, and even this island, are pretty exceptional.

Sturm

Who would've thought...

Drang

So? What brings the two of you to an exceptional place like this?

Drang

You don't look like worshippers, and you mentioned something about a job, no?

Drang

Aha! You must be looking for something! Did I guess right?

Hailak

It's just a job, and we've no reason to discuss the details with you.

Hailak

But if you don't stay out of our way, we'll let our weapons do the talking.

With a curt warning, Hailak readies his weapon.

Sturm

And what if we don't feel like chatting?

Hailak

Too bad! Prepare yourselves!

After a brief moment, the warriors collide once again.

But this time, judging from the sound of clashing weapons, one conclusion has already been drawn.

Lecia receives a message from her father which leads the crew to a secret note. Gran and the crew head for Mephorash.

Lecia

...

Gran and company are flying aboard the Grandcypher.

A single island lies ahead, and Lecia reflects quietly on their destination.

Lecia

(Father... What are you thinking?)

Holding a slip of paper in her hands, she falls deep into thought.

Gran and company have settled the disturbance on the Dydroit Belt.

After receiving a clue to help them on their journey, the crew visits the Fourth Fleet's headquarters in Amalthea.

Lecia enters the Fourth Hall and heads directly to a certain room.

Lecia

It's been a while since I've stood before this door.

Enforcer

Lecia! Wait!

Enforcer

Captain Walfrid strictly ordered that no one's to be allowed to enter while he's away.

Lecia

I know. But there's something inside that we must have.

With solemn determination, Lecia enters Captain Walfrid's room.

The interior is simple, and Lecia makes a beeline for a desk at the center of the room.

Lecia

(The bottom drawer...)

Lecia opens the drawer and finds a faded slip of paper.

Lecia

It was here after all!

Lecia picks up the paper and begins reading it.

It's a memo scribbled with the names of many other islands.

Lecia

(It was here. Just like the Golden Knight said it would be.)

Just before leaving the Dydroit Belt, the Golden Knight Alliah had passed a message on to Lecia.

The message was from Lecia's father, the Blue Knight Walfrid.

It cryptically mentioned that checking the bottom drawer of the captain's desk in Amalthea may do her some good.

Lecia

Father meant for us to have this. But why?

Lecia

(He wrote in his journal that Vyrn and Lyria are clashing entities.)

Lecia

(But he surely knows by now that they're journeying together.)

Lecia

(And this memo looks like a guide just for us.)

Lecia

Katalina

It's coming into view.

Lecia

Yes. Mephorash of Ravi Island. Who'd have thought we'd be back so soon?

Looks like we won't have battleships to deal with, unlike last time.

Lecia

Well, the Erste Empire doesn't exist anymore.

Katalina

Maybe so, but it seems we still have something to fight right now. Let's clear out these monsters, shall we?

The note appears to be a list of islands that Gran's father and Walfrid visited on their journey to gather map pieces.

Rackam

All righty then! Let's huddle up before we land in Mephorash.

With everyone gathered on the deck, Rackam stands before the crew.

Rackam

First off, are we sure that note is what we were supposed to find?

Rackam nods at the slip of paper in Lecia's hand.

Lecia

Yes. There was nothing else in the drawer that he could have spoken of.

Katalina

So, the Blue Knight Walfrid has entrusted us with a memo?

The crew gathers closer to take a peak at the note.

There's a bunch of islands here, but it looks like more than one person wrote it. Look at the handwriting here and here.

Lecia

I think this is my father's. It looks like the handwriting in his journal. But I don't recognize the others.

Vyrn

I know that handwriting. This is your dad's handwriting, right?

Dialogue Option

It could be.

Lyria

Sorry, but it all looks the same to me.

Vyrn

Hey, you've got your dad's letter, right? Let's have a look!

Gran takes out the letter and compares the handwriting.

Vyrn

Look at that. It's your dad's handwriting for sure!

Dialogue Option

It's just like the letter.

Vyrn

Yeah! Of course!

Vyrn

That means that Lecia's dad and your dad wrote this list, right?

Rosetta

It seems so. Everyone on the journey with Gran's dad contributed to the note.

Rosetta

So they wouldn't forget where they got the map pieces.

Rosetta

But to leave a note like that... Hm, he was very precise.

Lecia

So these islands here really are places where we can get map pieces?

Rosetta

Yes, I've no doubt.

Eugen sighs as he looks over the list of islands.

Eugen

The more I hear about yer father, Gran, the more absurd he gets.

Eugen points to an island on the list.

Eugen

Take this island here. No one's ever come back from that place and lived to tell the tale.

Eugen

As for this one, I've never even heard of it.

Rackam

How about this one? I don't know anything about it, but how about you, Eugen?

Eugen

No siree. I've heard of the place, but I don't know anything about it either.

Katalina

In that case, there's only one place on this list we should head to.

Lecia

Ravi Island. It's the only place to start.

Lyria

Mephorash is where Orchid is, right?

Lyria

I want to see her again.

Of course we'll see her again! Ravi Island is like her home after all.

Rackam

You know, we've dropped by this place before. Is there even a primal beast here?

Rosetta

We won't know until we get there. And it seems we're just about to arrive, so keep an eye out for monsters!

Gran and crew find Orchis and Adam alive and well. Orchis says that Erste was once given a map piece, and Adam believes the only person with more information is Freesia.

Gran and company arrive in Ravi Island and head for the Palace of Elijah Chelm.

Two silhouetted figures appear from the palace.

Adam

It's good to see you again, Gran.

???

Ha-ha! Pleasure to meet you... for me at least.

Huh? Wait, you're...

Lyria

Orchis? Is that you?

Orchis

Yes. I believe I spoke with you a while back, Lyria.

Orchis

I'm Orchis, the last of the Erste Royal Family.

Orchis

I'm now governing the new Erste Kingdom, with Adam's help of course.

Eugen

Now wait a minute there. Didn't you break down last time we saw ya?

Adam

I was cured. That is, I was repaired.

Adam

Golems don't perish, thus a great deal of damage to the body is no more than a temporary functional impairment.

Orchis

And this city has plenty of traditional golem craftsmen.

Rackam

Sheesh. You could've just told us sooner.

Adam

My apologies. It was my intention to tell you, but my functions had fully ceased.

Rackam

Fully ceased. You got that right...

Rackam scratches his head. Next to him, Lyria looks around in search of something.

Katalina

What's wrong, Lyria?

Lyria

Well, um, I was just wondering where Orchid is.

Orchis

Ah, I see. I should tell you then.

Orchis

After I was awakened, she left on a journey.

Lyria

A journey?

Orchis

Yes. But I'm sure she's doing well.

As Orchis speaks, her gaze becomes distant. Her expression seems worried.

Katalina senses the heaviness in the air and quickly changes the subject.

Katalina

By the way, Orchis, or should I say, Your Highness?

Orchis

Oh um, there's no need to be formal.

Katalina

Thank you. Then I'd like to talk to you about why we're here.

Katalina

Would you know of any ancient primal beasts on this island?

Orchis

Hm... Primal beasts...

Lecia

Or something like a guardian deity whose aura influences the land.

Orchis

A guardian deity? Mephorash has always seen golems as the guardian deities of the cities and its people.

Orchis

It seems it's been that way since before the War.

Adam

The primal beast Deus Ex Machina was bestowed on Erste by the Astrals.

Adam

But since it was sealed with a unique power, I suppose it has no effect on the island.

Vyrn

Whoa! Don't tell me we've already hit a dead end!

Lyria, do you sense any primal beasts here?

Lyria

No. Not even a hint of something.

Lyria shakes her head in disappointment.

Lecia

I wonder if the note could be wrong.

Rackam

Guess we're stuck. Does that mean we've gotta get out there and search?

Orchis

Are you searching for something? Is it a primal beast?

Rosetta

Not exactly. But yes, we're looking for something.

Rosetta

We're looking for pieces of the sky map so we can reach Estalucia.

Orchis

Map pieces...

Orchis thinks hard, carefully going through her memories. Suddenly, she looks up.

Orchis

Actually, there may be map pieces. I heard my mother talk about them when I was younger.

Orchis

She said that in the past the Astrals gave Erste the Luminary Table and one of the map pieces.

Eugen

Given by the Astrals? Oy, oy, oy, are you sayin' there's no primal beast?

Katalina

No wait, what's this about the Luminary Table?

Katalina

Were the Luminary Knights appointed by the Astrals?

Orchis

That's what I've heard. The Luminary Table was formed by the Astrals as proof of their allegiance to Erste.

Orchis

But now it seems that someone outside of Erste is overseeing the Luminaries.

Orchis

Their servant came to the palace once, after Apollo was appointed the Black Knight. I saw it while in spirit-form.

Lecia

I had no idea my father had a connection to the Astrals.

Surrounded by puzzled faces, Vyrn chimes in.

Vyrn

Hey, at least we know that Erste has a map piece for sure, right?

Rackam

We should thank our lucky stars we can finish up here without a primal fight.

Their spirits are lifted, but Orchis still looks gloomy.

Orchis

It's true that there's a map piece in Erste.

Orchis

But, I've not been told where it's kept.

Huh? But you're the princess!

Orchis

Before I could find out, Erste completely changed.

Orchis

I wish I could've learned so much more from my mother before taking over the country.

Eugen

Ah, that's right. Your parents got caught up in that incident.

Orchis

At least then, my history lessons could've been of more use to you.

Orchis casts her eyes down, feeling powerless to help Gran and the gang any further.

Rackam

What about you Admiral? Would ya know anything about the map piece?

Adam

Concerning the map piece, I'm afraid I only know as much as Her Majesty.

Adam

I suppose the only persons who would know of its whereabouts are the former Queen of Erste and her closest advisors.

Adam

However, everyone who served pivotal roles in the country at that time have met dismal fates along with the king and queen.

Adam

When Erste switched to imperialism, almost all of them went missing, and more than a few were killed.

Vyrn

K-k-killed?

Rackam

Finding this map piece is looking sort of hopeless now.

With no easy solution in sight, Gran and crew sink into deep thought once again.

But Adam offers a new possibility.

Adam

Actually, we do know the whereabouts of at least one advisor from that time.

Eugen

Oy, oy, oy! If that's true then hurry up and spill it!

Adam

Understood. Then I shall lead you there.

Adam

That person is the former Prime Minister of Erste Empire, Freesia von Bismarck.

Lecia

Freesia?

Gran and crew are shocked. A chill fills the air as they recall the last time they faced off.

Meanwhile, a lone figure sits in silence. The room is dark, save for the seething fires that burn within her eyes.

Guided by Adam, Gran and the crew trudge through the desert to visit Freesia in her prison.

Vyrn

I'm melting!

Compared to Valtz, the desert here is like a dust bowl.

Adam

The sands of Ravi Island are much drier than Fremel.

Eugen

Anyway, the place we're looking for is nowhere in sight, eh?

Leaving Orchis behind in the palace, Adam leads Gran and crew through the desert to meet with Freesia.

After her fierce battle against the crew, Freesia was remanded in custody to a unique prison surrounded in the middle of the desert.

Katalina

I'd never have guessed she'd be confined like this. Then again, it's only natural after what she did.

Lyria

Well, um, how is she now after all that?

Adam

Her life's in no danger. She's not particularly defiant and appears to be behaving quite well.

Rosetta

She may have given up fighting for a while, I suppose.

Rosetta

It'd be perfect if she'd just cooperate and tell us where to find the map piece.

Rackam

I doubt it'll go that easily. Depending on her mood, she might even try to make a deal with us.

Lecia

One thing's for certain: she's a shrewd one to bargain with.

Lecia

Even if we get information from her about the map piece, we should stay on guard.

The crew braces themselves as they push on through the billowing dust clouds of the desert.

Adam explains that while some distrust was born amongst the people with the fall of the empire, there are many who support Orchis and her rule.

Adam, Gran, and the crew make their way through the desert to the prison where Freesia is being held.

Eugen strikes up a conversation with Adam as they march on.

Eugen

By the way, you said that Orchis is rulin' Erste now, right?

Eugen

So, how's Erste lookin'? Is the recovery movin' full speed ahead?

A few moments pass before Adam begins to speak.

Adam

As of now, running the country is extremely difficult.

Adam

Erste has cast off its imperial name to be restored as a kingdom.

Adam

But for a kingdom, Erste is lacking in just about everything.

Adam

Also, with the drastic change in government, there are many citizens who distrust the royal family.

Katalina

Erste has changed a great deal in only a few decades. It's only natural for them to feel uneasy.

Adam

But there are also many people who have always remained loyal to the royal family.

Adam

With their support, we've been able to successfully oversee the country.

Lyria

I bet the townspeople adore Orchis!

Adam

Indeed. You could say it's because trust was built over time between the royal family and the citizens.

Rosetta

When there's trust between the ruled and the rulers, anything is possible.

Rosetta

It's quite inspiring, so we should work just as hard to make our goals possible, too.

Rosetta

But it seems we have a few monstrous guests to tend to. Watch out for surprises in the sand!

Gran and the crew arrive at the golem-guarded prison. They come face-to-face with Freesia, who's yet to remove the dark essence from herself.

Gran and company defeat the desert monsters and arrive at the prison where Freesia is being held.

Golems

Vyrn

Whoa! You've got golems guarding the place?

Katalina

Golem guards for a prison in the middle of an empty desert... You've taken every precaution it seems.

Adam

Freesia is a criminal unlike any we've ever seen in Erste.

Adam

Not to mention the fact that she has yet to remove the dark essence from herself.

Adam

If necessary, these golems should be able to handle her to some extent.

Guard

Admiral Adam! You've brought guests?

Adam

They are guests of Her Highness Princess Orchis, and they've come to see Freesia.

Guard

Understood. This way, please.

The guard guides Gran and company through the dimly lit prison.

Guard

Get up! You have visitors!

At the guard's command, Freesia slowly appears from the darkness.

Lyria

It's Freesia...

Freesia

...

In a dark prison, Gran and company come face-to-face with an old enemy.

She says nothing, but the flames of her ambition still burn in her gaze.
