A massive avalanche comes down on the crew. Io and company brace themselves for impact but are saved by Orchid. They soon set out to rescue the rest of the crew, yet find monsters blocking their path.

It's about to give way!
Gran and the crew are caught in a giant avalanche triggered by a strange primal beast.
Hearing Rackam's warning, Io shuts her eyes tight.
The sound of crashing snow roars all around as she braces herself for the impact.
Io
(Huh?)
She can surely feel the shaking beneath her feet, but the inevitable crash of snow doesn't come.
When the roaring and shaking stops, Io slowly opens her eyes.
Orchid
Are you all right?
Io
Orchid?
What was that... Aah!
Io yelps in surprise at the sight before her.
The entire landscape is bathed in white from the avalanche.
Lloyd

Thanks to Orchid, who was quick to use Lloyd as a shield, everyone is safe from the crash.
Orchid
It's over now... I guess. Thank you, Lloyd.

Rosetta
I wanted to do something too, but I'm sorry...
Looking frustrated, Rosetta lowers her head.
Rosetta
I don't think this environment suits my powers very well. I just couldn't move quickly enough.
Orchid shakes her head in response.

Eugen
You might be right...
Eugen takes in the view all around him as he speaks.
Despite Lloyd's protection, only Io, Eugen, Rosetta, and Orchid remain together after the avalanche.
Io
No way... What's happened to everyone else then?
Eugen
The avalanche... Must've swept 'em away.
Io
No... It can't be...
Orchid
I'm sorry. If I only had... more power...
Rosetta
No... There's no need for you to apologize.
Rosetta gently pats Orchid on the head.
Rosetta
In fact we should be thanking you.
Rosetta
Thank you, Orchid. For saving us from a disaster.
But Orchid shakes her head.

No... I couldn't save them. Gran, Lyria, Vyrn, Katalina, Rackam, and Sturm...

Oh, Orchid... Is that really how you feel?

Well they're a tough bunch, aren't they?

That avalanche might've knocked 'em down, but they're not out, I'll say.

The four of us made it through after all.
Eugen

First we need to trust that they're safe. Then we'll just do what we can.

You're right! They've gotta be safe and sound! Right, Orchid?

Yeah... Thank you. I guess I lost hope for a moment there.
