Though reunited with Rackam and Noa, Gran and the crew struggle to come to terms with the loss of so many friends. Noa suggests it might be possible to recover them if they can reach Estalucia, where wishes are said to be granted.

Sorry for the fashionably late entrance.

Rackam

But I'm all right now. There don't seem to be any lingerin' effects, so don't you worry, Gran.

In Gran's hometown of Zinkenstill, the crew is reunited with Rackam and Noa, who had previously been erased by the Otherworld.

They fill each other in on what had transpired during their time apart.

Rackam

My memory's a complete blank after the Otherworlders wiped me out of existence.

Rackam

First thing I remember is suddenly comin' to in Port Breeze a few days ago.

Rackam

Noa and I have been waitin' for you guys here in Zinkenstill while we poked around for info.

After briefly touching on the events leading up to their reunion, Rackam heaves a deep sigh.

Rackam

Still... I can't believe we lost not only Io and Eugen, but Rosetta and Katalina too...

Rackam

Must've been some fight. I heard all about the Otherworld from the folks in Port Breeze.

Recalling both the harrowing battle and devastating losses they had suffered, Gran and company lower their eyes.

Vyrn

But... hey. It's great to have you back, Rackam.

Vyrn

That means everybody who was erased by the Otherworlders must've come back okay, right?

Lyria

Yeah... Good point.

Lyria

We were able to protect the Sky Realm from the Otherworld and recover what they stole...

Lyria

And... So, well... Um...

Lyria desperately tries to convince herself, all the while biting her lip to keep from trembling.

Noa

But it's not all happily ever after, is it?

Noa

Even though everything that was erased from existence has been restored, far too many lives were taken by the Otherworld.

Noa

It would be impossible to say we've reclaimed everything that was lost.

Rackam

Noa... I mean, you're not wrong...

Lyria

But... they're gone. Katalina and everyone else.

Lyria

We just... have to come to terms with it, right? That's the only way we can keep moving forward.

Noa simply stares into Lyria's eyes, neither denying nor affirming her words.

Noa

Gran... Are you sure about this?

Noa

Are you okay with enduring this sort of tragedy as long as it means saving the world?

Dialogue Option

No, I'm not.

Vyrn

That goes for all of us. Losin' friends is a tough pill to swallow.

Vyrn

But... everybody who died is gone. There's nothin' we can do...

Dialogue Option

We just have to accept it.

Lyria

We're not the only ones who suffered in this battle.

Lyria

But everyone was trying to move on. Even if it meant turning away from reality or hiding their true feelings.

Pausing for a moment to consider their responses, Noa takes a deep breath and continues.

Noa

Say it were possible to recover all the lives lost in this battle...

Noa

To recover our companions. Would you be willing to bet on that possibility?

Lyria

But how—

Before Lyria can continue, Noa pulls out a familiar sheet of paper.

Vyrn

That's... the letter from Gran's dad.

Noa

Estalucia...

Noa

It's said that whoever makes it there will have their every wish granted. So if we can reach it... there might still be a chance.

The path presented to them by Noa is none other than the promised land they had first set their sights on.

His words become a new hope for Gran and the crew, lighting a fire in their hearts.

As the crew finds a glimmer of hope, elsewhere in New Utopia, Repti unearths a priestess concealed in the rubble. Politely threatening her to accompany him, he sets his final act in motion.

Around the time that Gran and the crew find a glimmer of hope...

A sightless Astral traverses the rubble of New Utopia, which had suffered significant damage in the earlier battle.

Repti

Sniffff... On this terrain, it might be more dangerous to use a cane...

Despite his complaints, Repti's footsteps are light and nimble as he makes his way across the mountain of debris.

Repti

It's faint... but there's a familiar scent around here tickling my nostrils...

He stops in front of a building that has collapsed completely into a pile of rubble.

Repti then takes his cane and begins deftly brushing away the wreckage piece by piece.

The ease with which he moves the debris—some even larger than himself—is tantamount to an act of magic.

Repti

Oh? It appears I may have struck gold.

Beneath the mound of rubble he finds a single room that somehow retains its original shape.

Approaching the cubic structure that now stands tall amidst the wreckage, Repti knocks on the door with a reverent gesture.

Repti

Pardon me. I, the Astral known as Demiurge, have come to call for you.

Following a short pause, the door opens slowly from within.

Priestess

I'm impressed you managed to find this place.

Repti

I have a good sense of smell, you see. I remember the scent of your nephew clearly.

Priestess

Is... Is that so?

Priestess

So tell me, to what do I owe the pleasure? You haven't come here for a chat, I presume.

Repti

No, no, I most certainly haven't! I'm afraid I cannot linger, for the beginning of the next act draws near.

Repti

The purpose of my visit is, in fact, to request that you allow me to abduct you.

Priestess

...
Surely you must know of my power.

Repti

Yes, I am aware of it. I am also aware that although you possess quite a special ability, you lack the capacity to fight.

Priestess

...

Repti

I would prefer to avoid resorting to violence. You will accompany me... won't you?

Though posed in the form of a question, his words are a clear threat intended to elicit her compliance.

With this, the curtain rises on Repti's final act.

Noa explains that since the Omnipotent chose to place his clone in Estalucia, it very well may be a superior realm with the power to restore their world. Wishing to believe in this possibility, Gran and the crew set their sights on Estalucia once more.

Vyrn

Estalucia?

Lyria

B-but Estalucia is gone... And the boundary too...

Noa

I don't believe that's been ascertained yet.

Noa

The last time you attempted to draw power from the boundary, you were interrupted. Isn't that right?

Vyrn

Well... Now that ya mention it, yeah...

Noa

To be honest, I don't know much about what kind of place Estalucia is either.

Noa

But... this is merely a discussion of possibilities.

Noa looks out the nearby window, and the others follow suit.

Noa

Just as that crack in the heavens suggests, the Otherworlders fractured the Sky Realm itself.

Noa

In other words, they must have possessed a power capable of altering the very framework of this world.

Noa

If we want to recover what was lost to the Otherworld, we have no option but to use power from the same realm.

Noa

And Estalucia is where the Omnipotent chose to place a clone of himself, correct?

Noa

That means it must exist on a higher plane than either the skies or the stars.

Noa

If we can harness its power, the power of a realm far greater than all others...

Noa

It may be possible to repair the fractured skies and revive those whose lives were claimed by the Otherworlders.

Rackam

Uhh... So what you're sayin' is...

Rackam

It's like how when you're in the woods, your visibility and movement are limited...

Rackam

But if you hop on an airship for a bird's-eye view, the job gets a lot easier. Is that the gist of it?

Noa

Yes, acting from a higher position is the general idea.

Noa

Though I'm not sure if Estalucia is a place that can be described in terms of vertical space...

Hearing Noa expand upon the possibilities, light begins to return to the eyes of Gran and the crew.

Vyrn

So if we can just make it to Estalucia, we might be able to fix things.

Rackam

But I always thought that whole story about grantin' wishes was nothin' but a fairy tale.

Lyria

I'm fine with it being a fairy tale. Because even if it is...

Lyria

If there's the slightest possibility that we could bring back Io, Eugen, Rosetta, and Katalina...

Lyria

I want to believe in that possibility.

Lyria

I want to travel together with everyone again!

Dialogue Option

Let's go to Estalucia.

At Gran's words, the others nod determinedly.

Their journey to fully reverse the destruction caused by the Otherworld is about to begin.

Realizing they can no longer obtain all the pieces of the Sky Map needed to reach Estalucia, Gran and company decide to track down Loki, thinking an Astral might have a clue. Thus, the Grandcypher sets sail for the former imperial capital—Agastia.

Rackam

All that bein' said...

Rackam

If we wanna get to Estalucia, don't we need a completed Sky Map made up of all the pieces scattered across the skies?

Rackam

So far we have the ones from Phantagrande, Nalhegrande, and Oarlyegrande...

Rackam

That leaves four skydoms. We'll have to find the pieces for them too, right?

Vyrn

I don't wanna upset the applecart... but gettin' pieces from four skydoms sounds like it'll take a while.

Lyria

But if it will bring Katalina and everyone back...

In the face of the crew's renewed resolve, Noa alone appears uneasy.

Noa

Yes, that would be the orthodox method...

Noa

As you all know, Sky Map pieces are obtained from primal beasts that have formed pacts with their respective islands.

Noa

However... from what I've heard, at least one skydom has already been destroyed at the hands of the Otherworld.

Upon ascending to the throne, Gran had received knowledge regarding skydoms under the True King's command.

The Ecksegrande Skydom had in fact met a devastating end due to an Otherworld invasion a decade or so prior.

Noa

Without the relevant islands and their primal beasts, the Sky Map pieces are unobtainable.

Vyrn

Seems unlikely that the primals made it out safe and sound when the whole rest of the skydom was obliterated...

Rackam

And those Istavion folks had a habit of squeezin' primals for all they were worth.

Rackam

If the islands and primals were still out there in one piece, I doubt they would've resorted to brute force.

Lyria

Then... could we get to Estalucia with the power of the primal beasts?

Noa

Unfortunately, I don't think there's much hope for that either.

Noa

If that were possible, I imagine the Astrals would have long since conquered it.

Noa

Not to mention, the Astrals have gone so far as to change its name in folklore from the Holy Seat of Genesis to the Island of the Astrals.

Noa

I think that's because they couldn't lay a hand on it directly, so they wanted to at least make people think it was under their control.

Puzzling over Noa's explanation, Rackam frowns.

Rackam

Hold on. Then why do we need primals to get the Sky Map pieces?

Rackam

Estalucia existed as the Holy Seat of Genesis before the Astrals even arrived, right?

Rackam

So does that mean there was no way of gettin' there before?

Noa

Well, this is just speculation, but...

Noa

I don't think traveling from the Sky Realm to Estalucia was ever intended in the first place.

Noa

There would be no reason for the Omnipotent to create a way to infiltrate the place where he left his clone.

Noa

Bearing that in mind, there may very well be those among the Astrals who successfully invaded Estalucia.

Noa

But they ended up realizing that it was too much for them to handle, so they decided to settle for modifying its name.

Noa

Perhaps that's the true reason behind the island's name being changed.

Vyrn

The Astrals...

As Vyrn utters the word, something seems to click in his mind.

Vyrn

Hey, so Estalucia is basically a whole different world from ours, right?

Vyrn

Then since the Astrals came here from another world too...

Vyrn

Do ya think maybe they have some clues for how to get to Estalucia?

Rackam

Seein' as how they traveled back and forth between the Sky Realm and another world, I wouldn't be surprised.

Noa

There's no guarantee that all Astrals know how to get to Estalucia...

Noa

But when it comes to finding clues, relying on the Astrals may be the best solution for our current situation.

Lyria

The Astrals... If Loki was going to return somewhere after the battle against the Otherworld...

Rackam

It'd be Erste... or more specifically Agastia, yeah? I mean, he was goin' around callin' himself the emperor.

Vyrn

All right! Then let's get our butts to Agastia—pronto!

Having finally found a concrete goal to pursue, the crew quickly springs into action.

With its helmsman back at the wheel, the Grandcypher sets a course for the former imperial capital—Agastia.
