With one day left until elections, Gran's actions during the monster attack have all but secured a victory for the captain. Two of Gran's classmates aren't acting like their usual selves, which worries Gran, but the concern takes a back seat in preparation for the big day.
It's the day before elections, and Gran's campaign is going full steam ahead.
Ever since the mysterious monster outbreak, there's been a marked difference in how the students view Gran.
Music Club Student
I saw you ziggin' and zaggin' out there, new kid.
Music Club Student
Those were slick moves. My vote's yours, so keep doing what you're doing.
Committee Member
Still waking up early for the morning routine, huh? Well, you got my vote, so you'd better not lose!
Wellness Officer
Good morning. After proving how capable you were during the monster attack, I can't wait to see what you do as president!
Vyrn
Wow, everyone was way more enthusiastic about us this time around!
Lyria
And more people were saying they'd vote for Gran too!
Vyrn
I thought Gran had no chance of becoming president at first...
Vyrn
But now our chances are lookin' better and better!
As Gran and company talk excitedly about their prospects of winning, two others crash their conversation.
Classmate 1
Congratulations! Soon you'll be sitting in the student council office as our next president.
Classmate 2
Congratulations! We're rooting for you!
Vyrn
Uh, thanks...
Classmate 1
You're gonna be an awesome president.
Classmate 2
Yes. The best president.
Classmate 1
As the bridge between childhood and adulthood, this school is about to get a major renovation.
Classmate 2
It will be reinvigorated as the cornerstone of education.
Classmates
It's going to be great!
Lyria
Um...
Classmate 1
And with that, have a wonderful day! Let's fill our heads with knowledge so that we may become productive members of society!
Classmate 2
Let's work hard to make the kingdom's future even brighter! Farewell!
The cheerful students bounce back to their desks and quickly unpack their school books.
Lyria
What's gotten into them?
Vyrn
No idea... Almost feels like they're pranking us...
Vyrn
There's somethin' weird about 'em today.
Their classmates' odd behavior lingers in their minds as they wait for the last bell.
Later that evening, Gran's campaign team meets for one last strategy meeting before Election Day.
Raclitus
The swing votes we were courting are as good as ours.
Raclitus
Your heroics during the monster attack gave you the edge.
Raclitus
With this latest surge in popularity, you're a shoo-in to make it past the primary.
Io
Oh, yeah. If there are three or more candidates, students have to vote until only two people are left.
Raclitus
Right. And in the final election, the votes of the candidates that lost in the primaries are up for grabs.
Raclitus
In this case, we'll need to secure the votes of either Patia's or Kition's supporters.
Raclitus
We shouldn't have much to worry about though.
Raclitus
Especially if Kition loses. Gran's battle prowess left a solid impression on the committee members.
Katalina
It's funny how being ourselves and following our principles won us these votes.
Eugen
Hey, good things can happen when you live each day without regrets, yeah?
Gran is proud of the great strides the crew has made in such a short time.
Rosetta
While Gran and the others were pulling committee duty, I went ahead and kept searching for anything related to the primal beast.
Rosetta
I sent my thorns throughout the island since that doesn't count as an act of aggression.
Rosetta
Unfortunately nothing turned up in my search.
Rackam
Yeah, did a few circles in the Grandcypher but didn't spot anything unusual from the air either.
Katalina
Then the primal beast hasn't manifested yet...
Io
Kinda like Tiamat. I wonder where it'll show up once it does...
Eugen
It's the primal beast of school policy, so makes sense it'd go to school, yeah?
Rackam
Since the primal has nothin' to do with nature, I doubt it'll pop up in the mountains or forests.
Vyrn
Then if there is a showdown, it'll probably happen somewhere in that building.
With Election Day drawing closer, Gran and company grow increasingly nervous.
Raclitus seems to sense the tension in the air and attempts to calm Gran down.
Raclitus
You'll be isolated while the votes are being cast and tallied.
Raclitus
You should head back to your room and get well rested for tomorrow.
The crew heeds his advice and breaks for the night.
They need to recharge for the coming storm.
