A three-way war has broken out between Istavion, the Otherworld, and an army of primal beast-like soldiers.

To make matters worse, the True King somehow got his hands on a strange weapon and used it to shoot down an island that wasn't involved at all.

That bastard king was makin' an example of those innocent people. Like saying, "Join the Istavion army, or your island's next."

First Port Breeze, and then Auguste... One by one Istavion invaded the islands of Phantagrande.

Valtz isn't doing so hot right now either. I betcha anything the True King got spooked because of the creeping you-know-what.

Gran sees Irotis's memories in full clarity. After the crew's crash landing in the Edgelands, the Grandcypher is out of commission. They need another method of transportation if they are to save innocents suffering from the war. Shitori, having gained the innermost teachings with Ebisu, is now able to open portals between the Edgelands and skies above. The crew makes use of this skill by hopping to islands in distress and evacuating local populations to the Edgelands. Gran dubs this makeshift resistance the "Blue Liberation Front."

Are you feeling okay, Shitori?

Yep, I'm fine. I think I've proven myself to Ebisu.

Shitori

I can see... things. Istavion forces are battling the Otherworlders up in the clouds as we speak.

The Blue Liberation Front, wearing pieces of the Grandcypher's gasbag as a symbol of solidarity, continue their resistance activities. However, the Otherworld launches an unexpected assault on the Edgelands. Amid the chaos, Gran watches in horror as ally after ally fall to the nefarious force.

The remnants of the Blue Liberation Front continue their fight against the Otherworld, but all is lost when a massive grotesque monstrosity appears and begins consuming everything in sight. When Gran is killed by the wretched being, Lyria uses the last bit of her life force to secure an escape route for Shitori. A mysterious voice calls out to her, enveloping her in blue light, and she is transported to the same sky several decades in the past.
